When one has money, even a little bit of money, one does not realize what stupid little things cost. Like garbage bags and laundry detergent. But when one is out of money, or very close to it, these expenditures seem atrocious. $6.00 for garbage bags? $12.00 for laundry detergent? And then you have to start thinking about the generic side of the store, and you have to live with not-so-soft clothes and a possible garbage bag breakage. And then you have to ask yourself, is having chicken bones and expired sour cream and dog hair all over the kitchen floor worth the $2.00 that buying generic garbage bags saved me? The answer to that is probably no, because then you’d use at least $2.00 worth of cleaning supplies to clean it all up.
